FURNITURE SHIPPING
WE SHIP FURNITURE SAFELY AND SECURELY. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Whether you’re simply selling a piece of furniture online or you need to safely transport a priceless family heirloom, we can ship it for you. While a traditional moving truck is a great option for going across town, or even across a state line or two, it’s not a very viable and cost-effective option for cross-country transportation. This is where Freight Buddy comes in. We specialize in less than truckload shipping, which means we can save you lots of money by helping you find the right freight carrier for your furniture shipping.
WE SHIP ANY AND ALL TYPES OF FURNITURE
Our expert carriers have safely hauled every type of furniture imaginable, from every room in the house and beyond.

PREPARE YOUR FURNITURE FOR SHIPPING
If you’re packaging the furniture yourself, here are a few helpful tips to follow. While all of our partnered carriers are especially careful with their cargo, the best way to avoid accidental damage is with the proper preparation.
- Take several photos of your furniture piece, both up close and from different angles. While mid-transit damage is rare, it’s a good precaution to take.
- Place any removable covers, throw pillows, or other loose fabrics into plastic bags to keep them clean.
- Can the piece be easily disassembled? If so, do it. Furniture legs, for instance, can be wrapped individually, labeled, and kept along with the rest of the piece.
- It’s important to keep all screws, fasteners, and small pieces together in a sealed plastic bag. It’s best if you tape the bag directly to the piece to avoid misplacement.
- Does the piece have drawers? While some cabinets and small doors can simply be taped shut, it’s safest to remove all drawers and pack them separately. Of course, don’t forget to empty out any contents first! If you’d like, you can put everything into bags and send them along for the ride.
- Protect any furniture corners with bubble wrap and/or cardboard. (You can make your own by cutting out the corners of a thick, empty box.)
- If possible, reinforce the entire piece by placing it inside a double box or a crate. Use bubble wrap or foam to cover any sensitive areas, and then fill any remaining interior space with more soft material for extra safety.
If that all sounds like too much for you, why not let a professional take over? Our sister company, Freight Buddy Crate and Ship, specializes in helping with all of your crating and boxing needs. Stop into one of their locations or give them a call at 800.578.6009.
